📝 Lesson Notes
Welcome to Web Development Fundamentals! In this course, you will learn the building blocks of the web. Web development refers to the creating, building, and maintaining of websites. It includes aspects such as web design, web publishing, web programming, and database management. It is the creation of an application that works over the internet i.e. websites.
We generally divide web development into three distinct paths: Frontend, Backend, and Full-Stack. Frontend development focuses on the user interface and what the user interacts with directly in their browser. Backend development handles the server, database, and application logic behind the scenes. Full-stack developers possess skills in both areas, allowing them to build end-to-end applications.
Every website you visit is built on three core technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. HTML (HyperText Markup Language) provides the structure of the page. CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) provides the visual styling and layout. JavaScript adds interactivity and dynamic behavior. In the upcoming lessons, we cover each of these tools through practical exercises to build responsive web pages.
